In addition to the efforts aimed at transforming schools into gender-sensitive environments, the Equalist Europe project encompasses a broader initiative—the development of the European Gender Equality Portal. This innovative digital platform, spearheaded by the project’s NGO partner, will serve as a comprehensive resource center and a hub for promoting gender equality across Europe.
The European Gender Equality Portal will be designed to provide easily accessible and up-to-date information on gender-related topics, best practices, research findings, and educational resources. The portal will feature a user-friendly interface and interactive tools, ensuring that teachers, students, policymakers, and the wider public can engage with its content effectively. By consolidating a wealth of knowledge and expertise, the portal will empower individuals to deepen their understanding of gender equality and equip them with the necessary tools to address gender-related issues within their respective communities.
To ensure the portal’s relevance and accuracy, participating teachers in C5 (the fifth participating country, Czechia) will actively contribute to its content creation. These dedicated educators will collaborate to curate and develop engaging and informative materials that reflect the unique challenges and contexts of their respective regions. By leveraging the expertise and insights of teachers on the ground, the portal will encompass diverse perspectives and promote a more inclusive understanding of gender equality across Europe.
The content within the European Gender Equality Portal will be structured to cover a wide range of topics, including gender stereotypes, equal rights, inclusive education, workplace equality, and societal attitudes towards gender roles. It will serve as a valuable resource for educators seeking to incorporate gender equality principles into their curricula and classroom practices. As the digital technical infrastructure of the portal will be developed by the project’s NGO partner, it will feature state-of-the-art technologies to ensure its functionality, security, and scalability. Additionally, the platform will foster interactive elements, such as discussion forums and collaborative spaces, to facilitate dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and networking among stakeholders invested in gender equality.
